Meet Chloe. She’s thirteen years old and a good friend of mine. However, she suffers from an invisible disease called Myalgic Encephalomyelitis, or M.E for short. She’s always in pain. Always. She has good days and bad days, a good day meaning she might be able to walk the dog around the block, or take a trip to the corner shop, a bad day meaning she can’t even get out of bed. And a good day means she’ll be in bed for the next few days recovering. This also means she’s missing out on her education. Her friends think she’s lying about having M.E because they only ever see her on her ‘good days’ which really does make her feel horrible, that her own friends would call her a liar and a faker. In the photo above, you can see Chloe sat at the top of a hill behind her house. It took her almost an hour to get up there. Reaching the top was a big achievement for her. Yes, you may see it as something extremely small but to her, being able to manage this means the world to her. What I’m trying to say, even though I know not many people will be able to see this, is that some people in this world are very sick and even though you might not be able to see it, sometimes they just need someone there to give them a hug and say ‘I believe you.’
Stay strong Chloe x

“Somebody once said, ‘Do you worry girls are just giving you attention because of who you are?’ I was like, ‘I’m 17. It’s wonderful.’”
